TEFL Videos - Amount vs Number | Ask Linda! | English Grammar
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
"This unit discussed how a course is developed mainly for young learners. One of the topics most discussed was the use of testing whether it is for placement, grouping or checking progress. The importance of screening is that its information can help in the development of a course syllabus if a department has not provided a mandatory syllabus with the teacher with one. However, it is important to remember that is as important to do a need analysis which is a type of questionary that asks the students what his or her purpose for studying this lesson is, what they expect to gain from the lesson, what were his or hers previous exercise and much more. The difference is that the need analysis focuses on the student need during test check for another thing focus with what we taught and it does not concentrate on the needs of the students. With this information, a teacher can develop a course sylabus. In addition to the results of the need analysis, diagnostic exam and placement exam a teacher need to consider other factors when creating a sulabus. For example, the teacher needs to consider time containment, resources available, the students themselves and cultural issues. "
