Date posted:2008-04-02 | Writer: The British American Institute | Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The British American Institute in Mataró, Spain is searching for experienced and qualified EFL teachers to work full-time starting October 2008. Work at an independent, medium-size school in a coastal town 30 kilometres from Barcelona without sacrificing big-city salaries. We believe in finding quality teachers and keeping them by paying competitively with the top language schools in Barcelona. If you’re interested in working and living outside a major urban area but within its easy reach, we might be what you’re looking for.
Classes are scheduled from 17:30 until 20:30 Monday/Wednesday and 17:30-22:00 Tuesday/Thursday. Friday, we offer classes from 15:00- 18:00 & 18:15 to 21:15, and Saturday morning from 9:30 until 12:30. A full-time workload is considered 21-24 hours per week (7-8 classes of three hours). Two or three of these classes would be teaching young learners (10-16 years old) in our "Junior" program, the rest teaching adults at any level from beginner to Proficiency (although, unless quite experienced at teaching Cambridge Exams, a new teacher would not be given these higher-level classes). Private classes are also available.
Only applicants who fulfil ALL of the following requisites will be considered:
* Native speaker of English
* University degree
* Minimum of 3 years EFL teaching experience
* CELTA, TESOL, TEFL or equivalent (RSA/DELTA preferred)
* Spoken Spanish at intermediate level or better
* EU passport or current Spanish working papers
* Experience with young learners (10-16 years old)
* Minimum of a two-year commitment to job
Interested applicants should contact Ernie Kovats at the email address on the job heading with a brief cover letter and C.V. or for further inquiries.
