Teach EFL in Japan - Yamaguchi
Date posted:2002-03-19 | Writer: Bromski\'s English Acdemy | Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Positions: Yamaguchi City, Japan
Bromski's English Academy currently has two schools with a third in the making. We are privately owned and we take great pride in being a part of both the business and educational processes in our area. The school consists mainly of children ranging from 5 to 12 years of age, which makes up about seventy percent of our classes. The remaining thirty percent is a combination of Junior High and High School students and a few adult classes. The children classes are taught by two teachers, a head teacher and an assistent teacher. This system is effective because it allows the students to experience English conversation in a natural way.
Our schools are located in Yamaguchi city, situated in the vallery surrounded by nature. They're about an hour and a half south of Hiroshima, and almost two hours north a Fukuoka by car, shorter by train however. The population is rather low, about135000 people, this is convient because there is never traffic or waiting in long lines. In addition, being a small city gives the prospective teacher a great chance to learn the language and culture.
TRAINING STARTS MAY 7TH, applicants should apply before April 27th.
The school is opened Monday through Friday from about 2:00 to 10:00, and of course closed on Saturday and Sundays. The teacher works about 4 to 5 contact hours each day, not over 25 per week, with an additional hour or two for preperation. There are four weeks of paid holliday per year, one in Spring, one in Summer, and two weeks at Christmas. The contract is for one year and renewable upon approval. The pay is 250, 000 yen per month with a raise to 260, 000 after six months. In addition, a completion bonus of 50, 000 yen will be given to the teacher upon satisfying his or her contract. Lastly, an appartment will be provided to the teacher which is partly furnished. The rent, app. 30, 000 to 50, 000 yen per month along with the utilities and other living costs are the sole responsibility of the teacher.
Other details about the job will be filled in during the interview.
