Teaching StylesAs teachers we all have different styles we use to teach which we need to be aware of and be able to adapt to fit the needs of students. Following is an explanation of different teaching styles, but a teacher must bear in mind that they may have to use some or all of the styles in order to ensure that all students in the class are being catered for: The most traditional teaching style is probably direct instruction which is very teacher-centred and does not provide for much student-teacher interaction. The teacher is the focus of attention and is seen as having all the knowledge and control as to how the information is imparted. This style is also referred to as formal authority. The direct instruction style is effective for teaching facts and formulae or where large amounts of information needs to be covered in a short space of time, however, it does not aid in building relationships in the classroom environment. The second style, demonstrator or personal model style,
