All TEFL International trainees are given handbooks for the following areas of the course: Examples of the content of each section are provided.

The teaching skills component provides details of the techniques and skills required by teachers in the classroom.
Language Awareness/Grammar - including:

- Past Tenses
- Future Tenses
The language awareness component gives a solid foundation course in English grammar and provides effective strategies and materials on how to teach grammar.
Phonetics - including
- The Phonetic Alphabet
- How to teach pronunciation
- Pronunciation Activities
The phonetics component provides an understanding of phonetics and provides awareness of how and when it can be used in the classroom.
Classroom Management
- Board work
- The Role of the Teacher
- Setting up Pair and Group Work
The classroom management component focuses on the value of effective class management and provides techniques for achieving successful language learning.
These high quality materials are the basis for the input sessions and will provide you with valuable reference resources during the course and throughout your TEFL career.
The center provides course handbooks and materials, including an A4 folder, which should be organized as follows:
The Course Log
- Teaching Practice lesson plans, materials & assessment
- Unknown Language Journal
- Lesson Observation Journal
This forms a record of the course and should be tidy and professional in appearance. It will be inspected during moderation at the end of the course.
Your Own Notes File
During input sessions, you will receive numerous handouts and may want to take your own notes as well. We suggest dividing the file under the following headings:
- Timetable
- Classroom management
- Teaching skills
- Grammar
- Phonology
Please Note
Punctuality is ESSENTIAL. Arriving on time is a vital quality in a teacher.
